Irregular Bathroom Tiles
A truly bespoke bathroom finish, this project showcases our expertise in meticulously planning and installing non-standard, irregular tiles for a unique, organic, and artistic statement.
This project was a true collaboration with a client who wanted to break free from the traditional bathroom grid. The brief was to create a feature wall in their walk-in shower that felt organic, personal, and dynamic—a piece of functional art.
While beautiful, irregular tiles like these present a significant technical challenge. Unlike a standard square, there is no simple starting corner or repeating grid. The success of the installation depends entirely on meticulous planning and an artistic eye for composition. Any error in the layout is instantly magnified.
Our process began not on the wall, but on the floor. We conducted an extensive "dry-lay" of the tiles, mapping out the pattern to ensure the organic, "random" feel was balanced. The key was to control the flow of the "scales," ensuring they aligned pleasingly as they moved up the wall.
